Clarion Hotel® Energy was designed by Snøhetta – one of Norway’s most renowned architectural firms, known for projects that balance function, form, and a sense of place. The result is a building that not only accommodates people, but also ideas, perspectives, and experiences.
As our guest, you experience art and design inspired by energy. Outside and inside, in the reception area, in the restaurant and in the guest rooms, on the floor, walls and ceiling. And you are constantly surrounded by the energy that arises when people meet. An energy that inspires, motivates and moves, creates new ideas and solutions, progress and the will to win.
Arne Jacobsen was not a man of many words, but of strong forms.
The designer behind the chairs you’ll find here at the hotel was known for his uncompromising approach to function and form—and for his pragmatic view of his own work.
When asked about the meaning behind a design, he would often respond with a simple question:
“Do you think it’s nice?”
It’s in that honest curiosity that Jacobsen’s timeless design lives on—not as explanations, but as experiences.
His chairs aren’t just made to be looked at.
They’re made to be used, to stand the test of time, and to quietly remind you that great design doesn’t shout—it endures.
It was once said that Kjell Pahr-Iversen “dips his brush in the sun.” As a guest here, you will quickly understand how fitting that description is when you let your gaze wander over the paintings on the walls.
Art is not just to be observed—it is to be experienced. Here, you literally walk on artworks by Pia Myrvold, an internationally acclaimed multimedia artist with roots in Stavanger. Each carpet is part of her visual universe—vibrant, sensory, and boundless.
It’s an artistic expression you literally become part of, step by step.
Philippe Starck is known for combining the poetic with the practical—and for his motto: “Beautiful things for everyone.” He is one of the most influential designers of our time, with a signature style that is both playful and thoughtful.
Here with us, you’ll find several of his iconic lamps—not just as sources of light, but as deliberate design elements that add character, warmth, and elegance to the rooms they illuminate.
